Some Madeleines

wind chimes

there is little wind tonight
brush of cars
alley-dogs
enough though to make the wind
chimes ring

another night with palms
strung lights
a second story porch
rush of trains
smoke, those chimes

while rain shook
petals on the railing
white and wet
a lighter flame
we are quiet in the dark

waiting for the echo
I hear it now

a sound like water
February wind

clear: remember
